64.31% girl pass Class XII exam, bag 65 out of 88 top ten positions | KNO

The girls outshined boys, not only in over all pass percentage but secured most of the positions, 65 out of 88 top ten positions, in Class XII examination, the result of which was declared by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education on Thursday. An official of the JKBOSE told that a total of 55163 students –25832 girls and 29331 males— appeared in the examination conducted in November last year and among them a total of 16612 (64.31%) girls were declared successful along with 17281 (58.92%) males. In science faculty, as many 41 students bagged top 10 positions and first position was secured by Mustashimi Rafiqi of Burn Hall Sonwar Srinagar, scoring 494 (98.8%) marks. Faheem Rashid, another student of Burn Hall School, got second position with 98.2% marks while Sabiya Syeed, a student of SRM Wilkin Sopore got third position with 98% marks. In faculty of Arts, Durhanah Massodi of Govt(Girls) Hr Sec school Baramulla got first position with 487 marks (97.4%), Munazah Shafi of Govt Girls Hr Sec School Kothibagh secured send position (96.8%) while Madeeha Khan of Green Valley Educational Institute Srinagar got third position with 96.6% marks. In Home Science, Iqra Rashid of Govt Girls Hr Sec School Kothibagh got first position with 480 marks (96%) while second position was bagged by Aazima Noorie of Govt(Girls) Hr Sec school Anantnag with93% while Fiza Jan of Govt(Girls) Hr Sec school Anantnag figured in the merit list at 3rd slot with 443 marks (88.6%). In Commerce stream, 11 students shared first position with 485 (97%) marks and they include Arfeen Nazir of Islamia Higher Secondary School Rajouri Kadal, Farisa Abdul Rahid, Mehreen Hilal, both from Green Valley Educational Institute, Sehrish Nafiz, Tabish Noor, Zaira Bashir, all from Nawa kadal Srinagar and Arafat Bakhtoo of Kashmir Harvard Institute Habak Naseembagh Srinagar. Green Valley’s Seeba Malik with 96.6% got second position while three students with 95.8% marks secured third position and they include Nisha Jan of government girls higher secondary Anantnag. Shifa Hanief Sheikh of Govt Hr.Sec Amira kadal and Tabish Qadir of Govt. (Girls) Hr. Sec School Budgam. Also, 31 out of 45 physically disabled students who appeared in the exams passed and they included 32 males and 13 females. Of them, 31 were declared successful and four of them with distinction, five first division and seven second division.
